Community Emergency Response Team CERT
CERT
Community Emergency Response Team
CERT is a National Program that is sponsored by the Office of Homeland Security. The purpose of CERT is to train individuals in disaster preparation and disaster response.
In the event of a disaster CERT trained individuals who live in the neighborhood or who are at the workplace will be able to assist victims until Professional First Responders arrive.
Crieve Hall Neighborhood Association CERT is listed on the National Citizens Corp website under Tennessee and is the only neighborhood CERT in the state of Tennessee
Community Disaster Preparation is EVERYBODYs' responsibility. If you think that some agency or somebody else is suppose to make sure you and your family will be taken care of in the event of a disaster you have already taken the first step in becoming a victim. If Emergency Responders are overwhelmed for hours or even days what will you do?
How ready are YOU? How Ready is your Family?
Don't allow yourself and your family to become victims.
Take the Readiness Quiz (below) and see how well you do. If you don't fair too well
consider taking free Disaster preparation classes called CERT training.
Do it now. Or you can wait until after you become a victim.
Remember the old saying "the time to fix a leaky roof is when the sun is shining."
